Plain-English Disclosure

Legacy Defenders may recommend, coordinate, or work repeatedly with providers, contractors, movers, cleaners, storage providers, real estate professionals, attorneys, CPAs, appraisers, lenders, insurers, item-sale partners, or other specialists.

Some providers may be preferred partners, affiliated companies, repeated collaborators, discounted-rate providers, or referral relationships. In some cases Legacy Defenders, a founder, or an affiliated company may earn a coordination fee, management fee, margin, referral fee, or other compensation connected to approved work.

The Trust Rules

  • We should disclose relevant partner or compensation relationships before the client approves work.
  • Clients may ask to use their own provider or professional.
  • A recommendation should be based on fit, urgency, scope, availability, records, quality, and the family's goals.
  • Provider pricing, scope assumptions, exclusions, insurance, licensing, permits, and change orders should be documented before work begins.
  • If an affiliated buyer, investor, contractor, or service company could benefit from a decision, the family should see enough alternatives to make an informed choice.

What This Does Not Mean

A provider relationship does not guarantee the lowest price, perfect outcome, licensing status, insurance coverage, availability, or suitability for every project. It also does not replace attorney, CPA, appraiser, lender, realtor, insurer, or licensed trade review.

The FTC's Endorsement Guides explain that material connections that could affect how people evaluate a recommendation should be disclosed. Legacy's operating rule is simpler: if a relationship could matter to the customer's decision, say it clearly.
